Sister Vicki Burt, Pianist

Vicki Burt (Martha Victoria) was born in Hattiesburg, MS to J. C. and Hazel Hyer Burt on February 18, 1950 - daughter number three of four.

At the age of six, Vicki accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Temple Baptist Church in Petal, MS.

Vicki began taking piano lessons at the age of eleven (11) and continued her music education through two years at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. At the age of twelve, Vicki was playing the piano for church and continued to do so for seven years.

Vicki stopped following the Lord in 1970 and regrettably chose to walk a path of sin and rebellion for twenty-seven years. In 1997, Vicki returned to the Lord, re-dedicated her life to Him and has been a faithful servant since that time. God has restored her life, as promised in Joel 2:25.

Vicki moved to Alabama from Texas in January of 2002 and searched for eight months and through seven churches before being led to Sharon Heights Baptist Church.

Vicki joined SHBC in September of 2002 and, within two weeks of joining, was asked to be the full-time pianist which is classified as a volunteer position. She loves serving the Lord and His Kingdom through her music ministry.

Although Vicki never married, she has a large family of two sisters, four nieces, two nephews, ten great-nieces, five great-nephews and several “borrowed” grandchildren at SHBC. Vicki’s oldest sister died in 1999.

Vicki is employed by Energen Resources Corporation in Birmingham.
