Student Ministry Brochure
Welcome to the Student
Ministries of Sharon Heights Baptist Church!
The Student Ministries of Sharon Heights Baptist Church exists to:
Reach non-believing students, to
Equip them to grow spiritually, to
Assist them in their ministry, to
Connect them with other Christians, and to
Honor God with their life.
We endeavor to do this through small group studies on Sunday
mornings, Discipleship classes on Sunday afternoons and Missions
studies and projects on Wednesday evenings. Each of our small groups
also participates in relational evangelism each month. Each year we
provide opportunities for students to attend a Winter Retreat,
Mission trip, DiscipleNow weekend, Back-To-School Retreat as well as
participation in other local ministry efforts throughout the year.
Our goal for students involved in the Student Ministries is worship
plus two: we expect all students to attend worship at least once a
week and be involved in at least one Bible study and then one
ministry each week.
Did you know that 86% of people who trust Christ do so because of
the simple invitation of their friend? We teach our students that
they are on the largest mission field in America, our middle school
and high school campuses. We strive to equip them to be campus
missionaries and to prepare them to be that friend that makes an
eternal difference in someone’s life!
Our Student Ministries consist of sixth grade through twelveth grade
students from several different schools in the North Jefferson
County and South Blount County areas. Our students attend both
public schools and private Christian schools as well as many are
homeschooled. The Student Ministries is divided into two groups:
Middle School (6-8th Grades) and High School (9-12th Grades).
For the most up-to-date information, check out the Student
Ministries calendars on the website. I also post the Parent
Newsletters that I mail out each month on the website so that it is
readily available to parents & students. I hope that you find this a
useful tool to use in the home during those times when you’re
together as a family.
If there is anything I can do to help you or answer questions you
might have, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
