Hugh Richardson
Transitional Pastor
 
Bro. Hugh was called as Transitional Pastor (Intentional Interim) in June 2025 to help shepherd the church through a season of revitalization and refocus. He will serve in this role until the church is ready to call it’s next Lead Pastor.
 
Dr. Hugh Richardson, Jr. began preaching at age 16. He has served as a youth pastor, minister of education, pastored two churches in North Carolina, two churches in Alabama, and retired as Associational Missionary of the Shelby Baptist Association. In retirement he has done supply work and served as interim pastor at two churches before coming to Sharon Heights. He has been married to Lu for 49 years and is father to a son and daughter. He has five grandsons and one granddaughter.
Ricky King
Associate Pastor
 
Bro. Ricky has been an integral part of our pastoral leadership for many years. He continually serves our people by reminding us to “keep our focus on Jesus”. His infectious spirit and rock-solid commitment to the gospel are an encouragement to everyone who meet him.
 
Brother Ricky often preaches and provides wisdom and leadership to various ministries and projects including a love for missions.
 
 Corey Powell
Associate Pastor of Youth and Education
 
Bro. Corey joined SHBC’s pastoral staff in 2018. He is a graduate of Beeson Divinity School. He provides leadership to our Rooted Students, Young Adults, Sunday School, and Discipleship ministries.

Bro. Corey is married to Jess who is an occupational therapist. She also is one of our youth girls’ teachers. They are raising their daughter Eliana Joan (infant) and their two dogs.
 
Will Jackson
Associate Pastor of Administration
 
Bro. Will begin his ministry at Sharon Heights in 2020 as Associate Pastor for Music and Worship, providing leadership to our media team as well. Since 2022, he has served as our administrative pastor. He oversees our church communications, pastoral care, and various administrative aspects of ministry.
 
Bro. Will is married to Haley, a sign-language interpreter. They have three children Wyatt (4), Palmer (2), and Weslin (infant) as well as a Cavapoo named Sassy.
In addition to our pastors, Sharon Heights’s GROW Kids is lead by Children’s Minister Kelley Boissel. Our music ministry is lead by pianists Gary Davis and Shanda Andrews. Our Financial Secretary is Katie Eadie. Many other key volunteers lead various ministries of the church.
 
Sharon Heights Baptist Church will soon initiate the process of calling a full time Lead Pastor. Per our By-laws the Pastoral Search Committee will lead this process. You can contact katie@sharonheights.org with questions or resumes to be directed to the appropriate church leadership or committee.
